Accounting Clerk

Basic Responsibilities

  • Account reconciliations including bank statements & subsidiary ledgers to general ledger
  • Maintenance of subsidiary ledgers including prepaids, payables, official checks, depreciation schedules and stockholder ledgers
  • Assist internal auditor on cash counts and evacuation drills
  • Bill payment using our software-Accounts Payable function
  • Assist with stockholder communications
  • Report Cash Short/Over to HR & Managers on monthly basis
  • Answer phones/greet public (with no receptionist)
  • Special projects as assigned by Board, CEO or CFO

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong Excel & Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Able to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to work both with others & independently
  • Basic understanding of general accounting
  • Good analytical skills

Training, Experience & Education

  • Accounting degree preferred
  • Knowledge of Bank Policies & Procedures
  • Knowledge of various federal regulations & acts covered in Bankers Edge Courses

Other Requirements

  • Personal transportation needed for days of audits/drills
  • Ability to occasionally lift items weighing 5-10lbs preferred, but if department has others that can assist with this, accommodations can be made
  • Ability to sit most of the day


  • Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm-40 hours a week
  • More hours may be required on a needed basis


  • Local travel is occasionally expected
